Bones and Weapons
by Iris Schieferstein, 2013
Where do we draw the line?
German artist Iris Schieferstein uses dead animal remains as the main material for her artwork. In Bones & Weapons, she contrasts the peacefulness of a cow with the brutality of a gun, exposing the duality of human nature.
The artwork confronts our moral boundaries—questioning what can be considered ethical in fashion and art. It reveals society’s willingness to exploit nature for aesthetic fulfillment while remaining indifferent to its consequences, forcing us to reflect on the fine line between creation and cruelty.
